Snowdrop Essence

Picture
Snowdrop essence gives the ability to create an inner stillness and in doing so brings peace and gentle restful feelings to your emotions.
It brings a positive strength and a very grounded ‘I AM’ vibration to all your energy fields. It can be used if you ever find yourself in a place of lack of hope or if you have feelings that you are struggling to overcome. I associate this flower with the spring so it’s very appropriate to remember her message as we move through different phases or seasons of our life, so that we may draw on what she has to offer and share with us.
Just like the Snowdrop that emerges from the frozen, dark ground, and battles for both survival and display, you too can find support through her essence to look towards the light whilst letting go of what no longer serves you, dropping it back to the source for recreation. This essence can be used to aid in surrendering feelings, habits and patterns attached to the past.
Her message is about bringing regeneration, cleansing, renewal, stability, peace and new hope.

The Adventure of making Snowdrop Essence

Snowdrop was not the first essence I ever made but the first one I wanted to make! Interesting concept when you look at what Snowdrop essences tells us. I remember searching for the ‘right’ flower and conditions to make one, never finding the time or place that spoke to me. Then one day in the Spring of 2016. I was out walking by myself on edge of Dartmoor when I spotted the Flowers, hanging gently facing to the ground and swaying in the breeze that was occasionally sweeping through the landscape.

I was totally mesmerised by them. Clustered in a little group on first glance, the green ad white plant, had some with very tightly shut buds, whilst others were open on full display, with a few scattered over zealous tatty and torn well weathered flowers thrown into the mix. Under stated , delicate and pretty, yet there was a striking strength, determination and power to shine there too.

It was quiet and late in the day on a Sunday evening in January but as an established essence maker, I was prepared not for exactly what I may find but I did have an essence making kit with me. So I went over to ask permission from the plant to make an essence. As I walked closer I noticed this clump of snowdrops were not alone. There were many all over the bank, thriving , separated clumps but close enough to be the same community. I set up and sat in quiet meditation and ritual with the plants and by the time I looked up at the sky had the full moon shining down on the bowl of water now firmly in place. The starting conditions were perfect and all with no pre planning! All my essences are made during the full moon overnight and into the day ahead or vice versa. I made note of the place, dates and times along with location messages and conditions and left, hoping the forecast for the next day was one of sun.

I was not disappointed for when I went back early the next day it was a beautiful morning with bright blue sky, cold cool, crisp air , a slight frost on the ground. It took me a while to find the same spot again as it often does when I have been on my adventures. But When I found the area I could see even more snowdrops in bloom than I remembered from the night before. Looking at the plants as they thawed from the nights frost I could see tiny water droplets dripping from the snowdrop into the essence I had been making and see the Suns reflection in the water.. Again spending time in that space I concluded my routine and took the essence home for final preparations.
